Gas Log Fireplace

If your own personal experience of Gas fire logs is one of the designs from a previous decade you may not find them particularly exciting. I urge you to not use your past experience as a reference but instead read on. The older logs were not very realistic, fake looking and often quite tacky in appearance.

If you’re like me and you work with many different types of fireplaces on a daily basis, it can actually be pretty hard to be able to tell the difference between the logs on a real wooden fire and the logs on one of the modern gas fireplaces that you can find in stores these days.

Contemporary models comes in a range of different log styles and a variety of design options to suit your personal preferences. For example, Vermiculite and glass wool is sometimes added to these logs, the purpose is to add an effect to the the flame structure enabling logs to light as if they are glowing embers. Add to that the range of traditional, rustic looking gas fireplace mantels available and you can have a very realistic looking fire  that can really capture that warm glowing feeling that a traditional wooden fire gives.

The logs can even be designed to give the appearance of specific varieties of wood species!!! Gas log fireplaces are often built for style reasons and to mix in with the decor of a home. Vented gas logs are attractive and trendy enough to take the place of wood in a conventional hearth and chimney.
